Check Out My Aunt Marty's New Book!!

I am so proud of my Aunt Marty!!!  She has finally fulfilled her lifelong dream to become an author!  Please support her in this endeavor- I promise you won't be disappointed!
A Miracle for Marcie
A Miracle for Marcie
by Marthella Adams

"'Marcie, you have to come home now. Your father...and I need you.'

Immediately after hearing her mother's frantic words, Marcie Myers books a red-eye flight back to Montana and the home she left behind six years earlier. Soon after arriving at her parents' ranch, Marcie finds that her father is on his deathbed, suffering from congenital heart failure. Father and daughter share a tearful goodbye, and Jake Myers takes his last breath.

Realizing all she missed out on while she was in California, Marcie decides to move back to Montana to help run the J-M-J Ranch, along with handsome Jarod Wallace, who lived with Marcie's parents when he was a toddler but was soon adopted by his greedy aunt and uncle. When Jarod returns to the J-M-J Ranch two decades later, the Myers immediately recognize his intense green eyes and welcome him back with open arms, but when Marcie arrives, she is not so accepting. Only when two Hollywood tycoons threaten to ruin the ranch with bulldozers and paparazzi does Marcie begin to see Jarod for who he really is, the man she's grown to love. But have her standoffish ways put him off for good? Even though her faith is strong, will it take A Miracle for Marcie to find true love and happiness again?

Marthella Adams' A Miracle for Marcie is a captivating story of faith, forgiveness, and family that will leave you cherishing life's simplest joys."

Marthella Adams grew up ten miles from Pendleton, Oregon, in a family of six. She had three brothers. One was older and two were younger. Family meant everything to her parents and since her father was an avid hunter and fisherman, he taught his children the same. A lot of their weekends and summer vacations were spent camping in the Blue Mountains. Those times are some of her most cherished memories.

“Because I was raised with three brothers, I’ve always been a competitor, striving to shoot, fish, ride horses and work as hard as any of them. Sometimes I hated being the only daughter, but I think it made me stronger. I wouldn’t change a thing about the way I was raised.”

She graduated from Pendleton High School and took a job at the hospital as an admissions clerk. She worked her way up to the billing office. She knew she wanted something different in her life as an occupation. After her daughter and son were born, she suddenly found herself as a single mother. She entered law enforcement as a clerk. She spent the next eighteen years working her way up to the rank of Lieutenant in the Sheriff’s Department.

With her children both grown and married, she took the plunge and moved to Montana. She worked at a plastics injection molding plant for seven years. When the company was suddenly sold, she and two partners formed their own manufacturing plant in the same field. The company is still in operation, where she works during the week.

She had always dreamed of writing a book, but it wasn’t until she was going through chemo treatments from her second breast cancer that she pondered on what she would like to accomplish in her life. She felt the Lord led her back to her lifelong dream of writing. “He put the idea into my mind that I could do it and He gave me the words to write. I owe it all to God and I pray that my books will glorify Him.”

She loves the beautiful outdoors of northwestern Montana, where she lives with her husband Jim. She has always loved to ride horses, hunt, fish, camp, read and garden, but her greatest love is for God, her family and friends. Her daughter, Dorene, and her son-in-law, Jeff, have two children, Kayla and Matt. Her son, Bob, and her daughter-in-law, Valerie, have one son, Royce. “God has truly blessed me with my family.”

Happy 1st Birthday D'Sean!

I Can't Believe You're ONE!

I loved you from the very start,
You stole my breath, embraced my heart.
Our life together has just begun
You're part of me my little one.
As mother with child, each day I grew,
My mind was filled with thoughts of you.

I'd daydream of the things we'd share,
Like late-night bottles and Teddy bears.
Like first steps and skinned knees,
Like bedtime stories and ABC's.
I thought of things you'd want to know,
Like how birds fly and flowers grow.

I thought of lessons I'd need to share,
Like standing tall and playing fair.
When I first saw your precious face,
I prayed your life be touched with grace.
I thanked the angels from above,
And promised you unending love.

Each night I lay you down to sleep,
I gently kiss your head and cheek.
I count your little fingers and toes;
I memorize your eyes and nose.
I linger at your nursery door,
Awed each day I love you more.

Through misty eyes, I dim the light,
I whisper, "I love you" every night.
I loved you from the very start,
You stole my breath, embraced my heart.
As mother and child our journeys begin,
My heart's yours forever little one.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We have so much to be thankful for this holiday season!!! Many of you know, but for those of you who don’t, Roland was blessed to be able to have a corneal transplant (left eye) done on September 22nd. Roland had been on the transplant list for awhile and even though we hoped for a call, It was such an exciting and sobering experience to finally get it. And from that moment, a whirlwind of activity began. The next morning as Roland was getting prepped for surgery he asked who the donor was. (a 10 year old little girl who fell from a tree) Dr. Komadina said that the only way he is able to do donor surgeries is to know that he is turning such a devastating tragedy into a miracle for someone else. His last words before I had to leave was, “ Let’s do this so you can see your boys grow up!” At that point, I couldn’t help but get emotional. Roland has never been one to complain. His lack of vision has simply been a way of life. Within a week of surgery he was able to see better with his left eye than his right eye. His vision is steadily improving week by week. He should start getting some of his stitches removed in March!

We were able to spend an early Thanksgiving with our family in Oregon. It was wonderful to be able to see everyone again! We got together and had pictures done… Quite an experience with two babies, a four year old, and then all of us! Dad will be so excited to finally have some pictures of all his kids together! Gigi gave us quite a scare a few weeks back! We were happy to see her in good health! Thank you for letting the troop stay with you! I am sure you were thanking God for a little peace and quiet when we left! Lol Thanksgiving wouldn’t have been the same without Aunt Zelda and Nathaniel. My stomach is always so sore after spending time with her! We laugh until we drop!

Tasha- The oldest, the wisest! I love you so much! It was so great to be able to spend time with you. I am totally loving getting to know you better!!! Lol The phone calls on your way home from work are such a highlight in my day. Thanks for bringing Nathan out to meet us all. You two are so cute together. I wish you both the best!

Davin-The second, the sweetheart! Thank you so much for the glass ornament. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! You are so talented! From your own recording studio, blowing glass, to pop-up cards- you do it all! We had a blast getting to spend time with you and Caitlin! Love you!

Raymond-The third, the character! We finally got to meet RJ! What a cutie! I am happy that you were able to meet some of your biological family, Thanks for sharing that experience with us. I hope great things come out of that for you. With you moving back to Oregon, maybe we will see you more! Love ya!

Last, definitely not least… Aunt Terry! You are such a beautiful person inside and out! Being able to spend a few days with you at the beach house was my favorite! Having you a part of my life is such a wonderful gift. I love you soooo much!!! Thank you for being such a loving and devoted friend to my mom! You two are the definition of a true friendship that lasts a lifetime! (47 years!) Nicole and I are working on it! Lol (23 years!)---Ummm If you notice... You both are wearing the same outfits as you did five months ago. Obviously you both are comfortable in your own skin and don't need clothing and fashion to determine who you are! Love you both to pieces!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Happy Birthday Grandma Ellis

Unconditional Love

Happy birthday
My mother and friend,
Since I was a child, you would always defend.
Your love has always, been unconditional,
Even when, my moods were transitional.

I cannot forget, all the things you have done,
Through actions and words, my esteem you have won.
You taught me to live, with courage and passion,
With the less fortunate, I learned your compassion.

Today is your birthday, I hope you dance,
This celebration, I’m sure you’ll enhance.
From the depths of my heart, I just want to say,
You are my mother, and my love I display.

Happy Birthday Mom!
We Love You!
