Friends

Girlfriends are
much cheaper
than therapists
and a whole lot
more fun.
A girlfriend
knows your
deep dark
secrets, but likes
you anyway.
Girlfriends are
no farther away
than the phone,
even if it's 4 am
in the morning.
A good
girlfriend is hard
to find,
impossible to
replace and
never forgotten.
Thank you Rose for a wonderful Lunch!  Love you!

A friend is someone who will bail you out of jail.
A best friend is the one sitting next to you saying "boy was that fun."

The folks I admire

The folks I admire
come from all different places.
They don't have famous names
or familiar faces.
They're not Hollywood stars
on the big silver screen,
so you won't see them smiling
in a slick magazine.
They don't live in big mansions
or drive fancy cars.
Their faces are weathered;
you might see some scars.
They've overcome pain
and life's bumps and bruises,
They know how to laugh,
and they don't make excuses.
They're just everyday people,
but what sets them apart
is how they treat others
and the love in their heart.

~ To the people I admire...  You know who you are =D

Here are a couple pictures from our last Fellowship Sunday. Enjoy
Playing their hearts out!
Trying to be as tall as Michael!  Never gonna happen!

 Daddy's little girl
Good Lookin' Jr. Youth Boys!!!
Men's Basketball-Now THAT is where the fun is at!

Look at those Jumps! lol

Jace started Kindergarten!!!

All I Really Need To Know
About How To Live and What To Do And How To Be, I learned in Kindergarten.
by Robert Fulghum
These are the things I learned:
Share everything.
Play fair.
Don't hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don't take things that aren't yours.
Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.
Wash your hands before you eat.
Flush.
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
Live a balanced life--learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and
dance and play and work every day some.
Take a nap every afternoon.
When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic,
hold hands, and stick together.
Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: The roots go
down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or
why, but we are all like that.
Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the
styrofoam cup; they all die. So do we.
And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you
learned; the biggest word of all-- LOOK.
Everything you need to know is there somewhere. The Golden Rule and
love and basic sanitation, ecology, and politics and the sane living.

Think of what a better world it would be if we all, the whole world, had
cookies and milk about 3 o'clock every afternoon
and then lay down with our blankets for a nap.

And it is still true; no matter how old you are, when you go
out in the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.

Uncle Jerry and Aunt Gale's Visit!

It was so good to see my Uncle Jerry and Aunt Gale.  They were passing through on their way home from Aunt Gale's 50th High School Reunion.  Definitley Short, but Sweet.  Love you both!

Rib Cook-Off 2011

My Wonderful, Beautiful Mother gave Roland and I tickets to the Rib Village for Roland's Birthday.  The Rib Village is an all-you-can-eat area at the Rib Cook-Off.  Ribs and Sauces from all 24 vendors, lots of sides, salads, drinks and desserts filled us to capacity!!! (Between both of us we ate around 50 ribs!!!)  Talk about carnivores!  We were able to go with a group of people our age, some we knew, some we didn't and had a blast of a time!  We really want to do it again next year!  It's the only way to do the Rib-Cook-Off!  Thanks MOM!!!

Oh... And Sly and the Family Stone did a concert for us all!  Not my era of music, but totally fun to watch! Aunt Terry we are keeping our fingers crossed for next year!
